Norway Spruce

Norway Spruce

October 2, 2010 by Frazee Gardens

One of the most popular evergreens for landscaping is the Norway Spruce. They are great for privacy screens, wind barriers and as showpiece trees because they have a nice pyramidal shape and reach a mature height of 40 to 50 feet and a spread of 25 + feet. The dense, dark green needles never get longer than 1".  Branches and tips droop gracefully as the tree matures. This evergreen conifer tree thrives in average soil conditions, and withstands the mostly clay soils common in central Indiana.  You will want to be especially attentive to watering new plantings this fall.   If you do not have the space for a spruce to mature, upright junipers and arborvitaes are more slim substitutes.

You can see Norway Spruces dotted across the front and along the property line at our 267 location and near the county road at our north location.

This note is for Lisa. I talked with you a couple weeks ago about the purse you commented on at the check out. I have a couple totes made. I will be sending them in the next couple of days. I will include all the details of the tote. You said you needed $5.00 for your portion. Please let me know asap if this is still ok and we can continue. Thanks for your help and I am excited to be working with you all. Sincerely, Cheryl Harshbarger, Hillsboro,IN 47949
